Report: Israel Adesanya vs. Yoel Romero Bout Set
By FCF Staff
After Paulo Costa was sidelined with a bicep injury, Israel Adesanya started campaigning for a fight with Yoel Romero and the UFC’s middleweight champ’s got his wish.
Since Romero (13-4) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Costa and before that, a split decision defeat to now-former champ, Robert Whittaker, it wasn’t clear if he’d receive a title shot.
But, recently ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported Dana White’s confirmed Adesanya – Romero will take place on March 7th, at UFC 248.
Adesanya (18-0) unified the 185 titles in October by stopping Whittaker in round two. The highlight reel striker has gone 7-0 to date in the Octagon.
UFC 248 will be hosted by the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card will also feature strawweight champ Weili Zhang taking on former champ, Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
