Jon Fitch’s first appearance of 2012 will be delayed, as the accomplished welterweight has reportedly been forced to withdraw from his July11th, UFC on FUEL TV 4 bout with Aaron Simpson due to injury.

The 34 year-old-welterweight, who has yet to compete since he was knocked out by Johny Hendricks in December, has injured his knee according to a report from the Wrestling Observer.com.

The UFC has not announced the injury and there’s been no word as to who will replace Fitch (23-4) at the upcoming event.

Simpson (11-3) is also looking to rebound from a loss, as the decorated wrestler is coming off a split decision defeat to Ronny Markes at a UFC on FUEL card in February.

Prior to the loss Simpson had won three straight.

The July 11^th, UFC on FUEL TV event will be hosted by San Jose’s HP Pavilion and will be headlined by a middleweight bout between Mark Munoz and Chris Weidman.
