Report: Jon Jones Arrested For DWI, Negligent Use of a Firearm
By FCF Staff
Jon Jones is making headlines once again on account of a run in with authorities.
The UFC’s light-heavyweight champion was arrested in Albuquerque, New Mexico, early Thursday morning for charges of driving under the influence, negligent use of a firearm and possession of an open container (according to KOAT 7 News).
The fighter reportedly took a breathalyzer test and authorities claim Jones’ blood alcohol limit was more than twice above the legal limit. Jones also allegedly had a black handgun and a half-empty bottle of Recuerdo 750ml in the car.
Jones was arrested for driving under the influence in 2012, and in 2015, he was arrested in connection to a hit-and-run incident, which broke the arm of a pregnant woman.
In September, Jones pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct, in a connection to an alleged incident with a cocktail waitress.
The 32-year-old Jones (26-1) is coming off a tightly contested, decision win over Dominick Reyes in February.
