Report: Jon Jones Charged With Battery Following Alleged Strip Club Incident

UFC light-heavyweight champ Jon Jones is reportedly facing a batter charge due to an alleged incident involving a waitress at strip club in Albuquerque.

KRQE News is reporting that a waitress has accused Jones of slapping her inappropriately, pulling her down to his lap and kissing her neck in an alleged incident this past April. The waitress has also alleged that Jones put her in a chokehold.

Jones failed to appear for a bond arraignment that was set last month, and a bench warrant was issued, but it’s being reported the paperwork was not successfully delivered to his residence.

The aforementioned report includes the following statement from James Hallinan, a spokesperson for Jones:

“Today, the media told Mr. Jones about a false accusation launched against him and that paperwork had been sent to an incorrect address. However, after receiving the documents from the press, Mr. Jones immediately went to pay the small fee, and he, and multiple witnesses, stand ready to factually refute the malicious lies being told about him to the public.”

Jones, who is coming off a win over Thiago Santos, July 6th, was handed a DWI charge in 2012 and was involved in a hit-and-run incident in 2015 that led to him being stripped of the 205 title.
