Last week Jon Jones announced he was entering a drug rehab facility, following his positive test for cocaine metabolites, and according to new report the UFC champ was at the treatment center for one night.

WBNG Binghamton has released an exclusive interview with Jones’ mother, Camille, and in the follow up report, it states the fighter’s rehab stint lasted one night. Camille Jones reportedly added, however, that her son continues to learn more about the issue.

While discussing her reaction upon hearing the news about Jones’ positive test, his mother stated:

“I’m glad that this happened to Jon, this stopped him in his tracks, this let him know that he may need to change some friends, you know, because everyone is not for you for the best,” said Camille Jones. “So this is a good thing as far as our family is concerned, so we wasn’t upset. Me and my husband considered it a blessing from God that our child was able to be helped and know that he need to stop and know that he needed the assistance to stop before it came to something worse.”

Jones will apparently attend this Saturday’s AFC Championship game in Massachusetts, which will feature his brothers Arthur and Chandler playing opposite one another.

The light-heavyweight champ scored a decision win over his rival Daniel Cormier at UFC 182 on January 3rd, and following the bout, news of Jones’ failed drug test surfaced.
