By FCF Staff
It looks as though the highly anticipated bout between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor finally has a date, as according to a new report, the championship fight will take place on December 12th.
McGregor and Aldo were scheduled to fight on July 11th at UFC 189, however, a rib injury forced the latter to withdraw. According to a new report from Yahoo Sports, the championship fight will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on December 12th. There had been reports that the UFC was hoping to hold the fight at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, but Dana White informed Yahoo Sports that the MGM Grand went out of their way to secure the bout.
White also confirmed that a third bout between bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate will not be part of the card.
The featherweight champ Aldo hasn’t fought since last October, when he decisioned Chad Mendes. McGregor, meanwhile, ended up facing Mendes for the interim title at UFC 189, and stopped the contender in round two.
