Following Conor McGregor’s defeat to Nate Diaz at UFC 196, his former opponent Jose Aldo is arguing that the featherweight champ lacks punching power.

McGregor bruised and bloodied Diaz with multiple shots on Saturday night, but the latter absorbed the blows and came back in round two to score a submission win. After the loss, McGregor acknowledged that perhaps his power did not translate as well at 170 pounds, compared to 145.

Aldo, who was knocked out by McGregor in just 13 seconds in December, recently appeared on “Extra Ordinarios“. According to a follow up report from MMA Fighting.com, Aldo had this to say about McGregor’s power:

“Some fighters have a great punch, others don’t. His hands are actually made of soap,” Aldo said. “Of course that anyone goes down if you connect a blow in the chin. Even a child hitting in the chin, anyone goes down. He has hands of soup. He always hits and nobody ever feels it.”

Since the loss, McGregor has said he will likely return to featherweight to defend the championship. The consensus is that the UFC will book either Frankie Edgar or Aldo to face him next.
