After a near decade long run with the UFC, it’s being reported that Jussier Formiga has been released by the promotion.

The now, 35-year-old, perennial flyweight contender joined the UFC back in 2012. More recently, at UFC 250 this past June, Formiage was stopped by Erik Perez. The defeat was the Brazilian’s third straight.

According to a report from MMA Fighting, which cites multiple sources, the UFC has released the accomplished grappler.

When Formiga joined the promotion eight years ago, he was widely considered to be one of the best flyweights on the planet.

During his run with the UFC, Formiga went 9-7 and he recorded wins over notable names like Sergio Pettis, Dustin Ortiz and the current champ, Deiveson Figueiredo.
