Many believe Sage Northcutt lived up to all the hype that accompanied his UFC debut earlier this month, but another rising lightweight, Kevin Lee, is far from sold.

Northcutt took on Francisco Trevino at UFC 192, and moved his record to 6-0, by taking him out the latter in 57 seconds. The win came not long after the 19 year-old was featured in Dana White’s new reality series “Looking for a Fight”.

Recently Lee appeared on MMA Junkie.com Radio in advance of his December 12th bout with Leonardo Santos. The 23 year-old called into the show after Northcutt was interviewed. After arguing that Northcutt is getting more push and coverage than he deserves, Lee relayed the following (quote via MMA Junkie.com):

“I just know he’s a rich, privileged white boy, and as soon as he gets in there and gets hit and sees some adversity thrown into his face, I think he’s going to crumble,” Lee said. “I think I’m a better striker than him. I damn sure know I’m a better wrestler than him, so I think I can beat him everywhere.”

After losing by unanimous decision to Al Iaquinta, in what was Lee’s first UFC fight, the Michigan fighter has won four straight.

Lee-Santos will be part of UFC 194, which will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
