Khabib Nurmagomedov retained the UFC’s lightweight title this past Saturday by defeating Dustin Poirier, and the fighter’s victory generated a massive view count in his native Russia.

The undefeated champion submitted Poirier with a third round, rear-naked-choke at UFC 242, which took place in Abu Dhabi. According to a follow-up report from RT, the bout has been watched over 26 million times across the various platforms of Russia’s Channel 1 (Perviy Canal).

With the victory, the 30-year-old Nurmagomedov now holds a record of 28-0. The Dagestan born fighter was competing for the first time since last October, when Nurmagomedov submitted Conor McGregor at UFC 229.
