Report: Kimbo Slice Headed to Bellator

By FCF Staff

It looks like Bellator has added another high profile fighter to its roster, as according to reports, the promotion has signed Kimbo Slice to a contract.

In recent months, new Bellator President Scott Coker has talked of the need to bring “fringe fans” back to MMA, and one could say this is another step in that direction. Slice became a well known Youtube figure due to a series of bare knuckle boxing videos, and the heavyweight went on to become a considerable draw through fighting for Elite XC.

More recently, Slice competed on the 10th Season of “The Ultimate Fighter”, and went 1-1 in the UFC. After being stopped by Matt Mitrione in 2010, Slice went into pro boxing and recorded a record of 7-0.

News of Slice’s Bellator deal was reported first by Combat Press.com , and several other outlets have confirmed the signing. The deal is expected to be announced during tonight’s broadcast of Bellator 132.

Details regarding the 40 year-old’s Bellator debut is expected to be announced soon.
