Report: Louis Gaudinot Releases Statement After Failing UFC FN 37 Drug Test

Louis Gaudinot

It looks as though Louis Gaudinot’s quick, submission win over Phil Harris at UFC FN 37 will not stand, as the flyweight has reportedly tested positive for a banned substance following the March 8th card.

Gaudinot tested positive for a diuretic following the win, and as a result, the fighter has been suspended for six months. The bout has also been overturned to a no contest. News of the test result was reported first by Sherdog.com.

The fighter has released a statement to MMA Junkie.com, which stated:

“I have great respect for the UFC, the sport of MMA, and my opponent,” Gaudinot said. “I would never do anything to disrespect any of them. I would also never do anything to tarnish my name, my teammates, and family. While I deny any wrongdoing, I will respect the decision of the UFC and look forward to getting back in the cage in pursuit of the UFC flyweight championship. I thank my family, teammates and fans for their support.”

The statement also reportedly said that Gaudinot has not changed his “regime” from previous fights, where the fighter’s drug tests were negative.

The 29 year-old is 2-2, with 1 no contest, in his last 5 fights.
