After a scheduled, November 3rd bout between Strikeforce middleweight champ Luke Rockhold and Lorenz Larkin was cancelled due to the former being injured, it appears as though the two will fight on January 12th. Rockhold’s wrist injury proved to be the end of Strikeforce’s card that had been set for Oklahoma last week, as that, coupled with an injury to headliner Frank Mir, prompted the promotion to cancel the event altogether.

Strikeforce and broadcast partner Showtime proceeded to announce that the promotion’s next event would take place in January. According to a report from MMA Junkie, sources close to the organization have informed them that Larkin and Rockhold will now fight January 12th.

Strikeforce has not made any official announcement about the reported fight, card or venue.

Rockhold (10-1) hasn’t competed since July when he worked his way to unanimous decision win over Tim Kennedy.

Larkin (13-0), on the other hand, is coming off a UD victory over UFC vet Robbie Lawler, which took place on the same July 14th card.

The cancelled November 3rd card was set to feature recent heavyweight grand-prix winner Daniel Cormier versus the aforementioned Mir. Cormier is expected to compete on the January 12th card, however, no official announcement has been made.
