It appears as though Bellator 144 has been dealt as serious blow, as according to reports, the bantamweight title fight between champion Marcos Galvao and Eduardo Dantas has been postponed.

The two were set to fight in the October 23rd card’s headliner, in what is a rematch of their 2013 encounter. Dantas won that fight by knockout in the second round.

According to a report from The MMA Insider’s podcast, which was also confirmed by MMA Junkie, Dantas has been forced to withdraw due to an injury. Bellator plans to reschedule the fight for a later date.

Bellator 144 will feature a middleweight fight between Rafael Carvalho and Brandon Halsey for the vacant title. The card will take place in Uncasville, Connecticut.
