Following his latest defeat this past weekend at Bellator 262, it’s being reported the promotion has parted ways with Matt Mitrione.

Mitrione was stopped by Tyrell Fortune in the opening round of the bout, although, the UFC veteran complained about an accidental headbutt that preceded the fight’s end. The defeat was Mitrione’s third straight and extended his winless streak to five.

Since then, MMA Fighting has reported that a Bellator official has confirmed Mitrione’s been released from his contract.

The 43-year-old Mitrione (13-9, 1 NC) moved from the UFC to Bellator in 2016, and went on to win his first four bouts with the promotion.
