Following the news that Daniel Cormier has withdrawn from his UFC 206 bout with Anthony Johnson, it’s being reported that Max Holloway and Anthony Pettis will battle for an interim 145 title at the event.

Holloway and Pettis were scheduled to fight in the card’s co-main event. But now that Cormier has withdrawn due to injury, MMA Fighting is reporting that Holloway – Pettis has been moved into the main event slot, and that the two will meet for the interim featherweight belt. Jose Aldo, who won the interim belt in July, is expected to become the champion. This would mean that Conor McGregor has either agreed to vacate the featherweight belt, or the UFC is stripping him of the championship.

McGrergor has not defended the 145 title since he KO’d Aldo last December to become champion.

The December 10th, UFC 206 card will take place in Toronto, Ontario.
