Report: Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic Says He “Would Like to Fight MMA Again”

"Cro Cop"

Although former PRIDE star Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic finished out his UFC contract having lost three consecutive fights, the 37 year-old-heavyweight is not ruling out future MMA bouts.

Since exiting from the UFC last October, following a stoppage loss to Roy Nelson, Filipovic has scored two wins while competing in kickboxing matches. The heavyweight is scheduled to fight for K-1 in October at the kickboxing promotion’s upcoming event in Tokyo, but will reportedly consider MMA offers after.

In an interview with USA Today.com, the Croatian heavyweight reported that following surgeries to repair an injured arm, he has been training every day and is “so happy”. In addition, Filipovic clarified that he never in fact retired from fighting and that “when I look deep into my soul, of course I would like to fight MMA again.”

Before losing three consecutive bouts to Frank Mir, Brendan Schaub and Nelson, “Cro Cop” had scored back-to-back wins over Anthony Perosh and Pat Barry.

Filipovic carries a MMA record 27-10-2.
