Report: Paul Daley Released by Strikeforce
By FCF Staff
It appears as though Paul Daley’s tenure with Strikeforce has come to an end, following the British striker’s split decision loss to Japanese star Kazuo Misaki in March.
Wad Alameddine of Fight Management, who represents Daley, reportedly announced Saturday that the welterweight sought to be released from Strikeforce in order to pursue more frequent opportunities elsewhere.
The split between Daley (29-12) and Strikeforce was amicable according to the report by MMA Junkie.com.
Daley exits the promotion having gone 2-3 in Strikeforce action. The 29 year-old veteran scored wins over Duane Ludwig and Scott Smith while competing for the organization, but incurred losses to Nick Diaz, Tyron Woodley and the aforementioned Misaki.
Prior to fighting Misaki, Daley earned unanimous decision wins over Jordan Radev and Luigi Fioravanti while competing for BAMMA and Ringside MMA respectively.
