Report: Paulo Costa – Yoel Romero Fight is in The Works
By FCF Staff
The Ultimate Fighting Championship was unable to finalize a bout between Paulo Costa and Yoel Romero last November, but the promotion is reportedly working on adding that contest to its upcoming schedule.
The UFC attempted to have the middleweights fight at UFC 230 last November, but Romero (13-3) was unable to commit to the bout, as a result of injuries he sustained in his June loss to champion, Robert Whittaker.
The Brazilian outlet Combate is reporting, however, that the UFC is targeting its April 27th card in Miami for a Costa – Romero bout. MMA Junkie has confirmed with UFC officials that the promotion hopes to have that fight take place at the upcoming, ESPN card.
Costa (12-0) hasn’t fought since last July when he took out Uriah Hall.
