Following the news that Rashad Evans is officially, ending his retirement, the UFC Hall of Famer has an opponent for his return bout.

It’s being reported that Evans will battle Gabriel Checco at Eagle FC’s January 28th card, which is taking place in Miami, Florida.

Sources recently informed ESPN of the match-up.

The 42-year-old Evans (19-8-1) hasn’t competed since 2018, when he was knocked out by Anthony Smith. The former UFC light heavyweight champ has lost five straight.

Checco (12-5), who is 35, is coming off a stoppage win over Simon Marini at a XMMA card in October.

Eagle FC 44 will be headlined by a heavyweight fight between Tyron Spong and Sergei Kharitonov.
