Although Renzo Gracie is 47 years old, and hasn’t fought in a professional MMA bout since 2010, the legendary fighter still wants one more fight in the UFC.

Gracie is scheduled to grapple former PRIDE star Kazushi Sakuraba at Metamoris V on November 22nd, but after that, he’s reportedly eyeing a return to the Octagon. Gracie recently appeared on “The MMA Hour” and had this to say about his future plans (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“I’m ready to kick some butt,” Gracie said. “After Sakuraba, I’m coming for the UFC.”

“I’m as serious as hell, my friend. Believe it,” the accomplished instructor furthered. “You have to understand that you’re as old as you think you are. … I have to be in shape in November for Metamoris. I have to be in shape of September next year. Let’s be in shape in the middle and do what I like the most.”

Gracie has relayed a desire to return to the UFC in the past, but the promotion’s president, Dana White, has said he wasn’t interested. Gracie, who hasn’t fought since he was stopped by Matt Hughes at UFC 112, has even offered to fight for free.

The grappling match with Sakuraba has been booked approximately 14 years after the Japanese fighter broke Gracie’s arm with a kimura at a PRIDE event in 2000.
