After being forced out of UFC 234 due to emergency surgery, Robert Whittaker has reportedly been cleared to resume full training.

The middleweight champion was scheduled to fight Kelvin Gastelum last month, but Whittaker was pulled from the fight due to a hernia. Now ESPN’s Ariel Helwani is reporting that the fighter’s manager’s confirmed Whittaker’s been cleared to train without limitations.

Whittaker’s manager, Titus Day, reported that the Australian fighter is hoping to fight again in August.

The 28-year-old hasn’t competed since last June, when Whittaker (20-4) earned a split decision win over Yoel Romero.
