Report: Ronda Rousey Not Planning to Fight Again Until Next Summer After UFC 193

After Ronda Rousey battles Holly Holm this weekend at UFC 193, it sounds like it could be a little while before fans see her fight again.

When Rousey takes on Holm Saturday, it will be the bantamweight champ’s third fight of 2015. In February, Rousey quickly submitted Cat Zingano, and in August, she quickly stopped Bethe Correia.

Originally, Rousey and Holm weren’t supposed to fight until January 2nd, and Robbie Lawler was supposed to fight Carlos Condit at UFC 193. After the welterweight champ Lawler went down with an injury, however, the fight dates were switched.

Recently Rousey spoke to Rolling Stone, and in the interview, “Rowdy” had this to say about about her plans for 2016:

“I’m selling a product and I have to be out there; I don’t have the option not to be,” she says. “But after this fight, I’m definitely going to let some people miss me, for sure. Believe me, there’s nothing I would like to do more than disappear for a while.

“I would like to wait until UFC 200 to fight again. I’m going to be filming [movies] in the meantime, so I’m still going to be keeping busy,” she continues. “When I’m filming it’s kind of weird, I’m on camera the whole time, but nothing really goes out until a year or two later. It is kind of like disappearing in a way.”

UFC 200 is expected to take place on July 9th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

UFC 193, meanwhile, will be hosted by Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium.
