Report: Ronda Rousey to Face Bethe Correia at UFC 190
By FCF Staff
It looks like the UFC has mapped out Ronda Rousey’s next title defence, as according to multiple reports, a bout between the UFC Bantamweight Champion and Bethe Correia is targeted for UFC 190.
The bout will headline the August 1st card, which will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Although the UFC has not made any official announcement regarding the fight, the Brazilian outlet Tatame was the first to report the promotion’s plans. Globo and MMA Fighting.com have also confirmed the match-up with sources.
Correia has been actively campaigning for a fight with Rousey since she stopped the champ’s friends and training partners, Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Bazler. The Brazilian fighter (9-0) has gone 3-0 in the UFC thus far and is ranked #7.
Rousey (11-0), meanwhile, cruised to a 14 second, submission win over Cat Zingano in February, after stopping Alexis Davis in 16 seconds last July. Rousey has also recently expressed an interest in fighting Correia, and doing so in Brazil.
