Report: Rose Namajunas Has Withdrawn From UFC 249 Rematch With Jessica Andrade
By FCF Staff
It looks as though UFC 249 has lost its co-headliner, as it’s being reported that Rose Namajunas has withdrawn from her rematch with Jessica Andrade.
Namajunas was booked to fight the fellow, former strawweight champ at the April 18th event. But, according to a report from Combate, and a follow-up report from MMA Junkie, Namajunas has dropped out due to undisclosed reasons.
Namajunas (8-4) hasn’t fought since she lost the strawweight title via a first-round, knockout loss to Andrade in May, 2019.
Andrade (20-7) proceeded to lose the title to Zhang Weili last August, as the latter stopped her in the opening round with strikes.
No location has been announced yet for UFC 249, but it has been reported the card will be hosted by the Tachi Palace Resort and Casino in California.
