By FCF Staff
It looks as though two of the UFC’s rising heavyweights will battle in December, as the promotion is reportedly hoping to match Travis Browne against Stipe Miocic.
News of the proposed bout was relayed on the latest edition of “UFC Tonight”. According to the report, the UFC is targeting UFC 168 on December 28th, or UFC on FOX 9 on December 14th for the fight.
Browne (15-1-1) is coming off a memorable, come from behind KO win over Alistair Overeem at UFC FN 26 on August 17th. Prior to that the heavyweight stopped Gabriel Gonzaga at the TUF 13 Finale in April.
The only man to defeat “Hapa” to date is Antonio “Bigfoot Silva. The 31 year-old is 6-1-1 in the UFC thus far.
Miocic (10-1) also scored an impressive win in his previous outing, as he badly outscored Roy Nelson at UFC 161 in June for the UD win. Miocic was stopped by Stefan Struve prior to that, which took place last September at a UFC on FUEL TV card.
The 31 year-old vet and former NCAA Division 1 wrestler has gone 4-1 in the Octagon to date.
