UFC 225 was widely viewed as one of the most stacked cards of the year, but according to one report, the June 9th event struggled in the pay-per-view market.
Last weekend’s event, which took place in Chicago, Illinois, was headlined by a middleweight bout between champion Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero. The card also feature Colby Covington against Rafael dos Anjos for the interim welterweight title, and stars like Holly Holm and CM Punk also competed on the main card.
According to a recent report from the L.A. Times, however, an industry official told the publication that UFC 225 sold less than 150,000 pay-per-views.
It’s also been reported that the Fox Sports prelims, which feature Alistair Overeem taking on rising heavyweight, Curtis Blaydes, averaged just 667,000 viewers.
