With January 26th fast approaching and no main event scheduled for UFC 233, it’s being reported that the promotion has decided to cancel the event.

The upcoming card was scheduled to take place in Anaheim, California on that date. But, recently ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported that UFC 233 has been canceled. The card was originally scheduled to feature TJ Dillashaw challenging flyweight champion Henry Cejudo in the main event, but the UFC decided to move that fight to its ESPN debut, January 19th.

Recently it was reported that the UFC was hoping to have welterweight champion Tyron Woodley fight Colby Covington at UFC 233, but due to a hand injury, Woodley had not committed to fighting.

It’s also being reported by ESPN’s Ariel Helwani that the UFC is trying to move the Ben Askren – Robbie Lawler fight, previously scheduled for Januar 26th, to March 2nd.

Bellator’s heavyweight grand-prix final between Ryan Bader and Fedor Emelianenko is scheduled to take place on January 26th in Inglewood, California.
