After some initial protests, UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo and his camp have agreed to a bout with former lightweight contender Anthony Pettis this August. According to multiple reports, UFC President Dana White revealed the news today during an online chat session.

The decision comes after White relayed this past weekend, that according to the executive, Aldo’s camp was initially protesting the bout with Pettis by citing the fact he has yet to compete in the UFC featherweight division.

Now it appears, however, that the all-star bout will likely take place August 3rd. The location and venue for the event has yet to be determined.

Pettis shocked many throughout the world earlier this month, by informing White that he was willing to move to featherweight and fight Aldo next, after the champion handed Frankie Edgar a unanimous decision loss at UFC 156.

Pettis (16-2) likely secured a shot at the lightweight title in January by stopping fellow contender Donald Cerrone in the first round. The Roufusport fighter elected to move to featherweight, however, rather than wait to face the winner of the April 20th bout between lightweight champ Benson Henderson and Gilbert Melendez.
