UFC and MMA legend Mark Coleman is in another battle, as it’s being reported the 59-year-old has been hospitalized, after rescuing his parents from a serious, house fire.
According to a recent report from MMA Fighting, UFC vet Wes Sims reportedly shared the news about Coleman’s heroic actions via Facebook. The 59-year-old was airlifted to a hospital in Toledo, Ohio, as a result of smoke inhalation.
Coleman’s daughter, Morgan, also relayed via social media that her father is “battling for his life”, and that his efforts to save their dog, Hammer, failed.
Coleman is widely regarded as one of the greatest heavyweights in MMA history, on account of winning two UFC tournaments, the UFC’s heavyweight title and PRIDE’s open weight grand-prix in 2000.
