UFC matchmaker Joe Silva

One of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s longstanding, and top executives, Joe Silva, is reportedly leaving the promotion.

Silva has been a matchmaker for the UFC for over two decades, but according to a new report from MMA Junkie, he plans to resign, possibly before the year concludes. An unnamed source, who is cited for the report, says Silva has decided to do so because of the compensation he received as part of the UFC’s recent sale. He reportedly plans to spend more time with his family.

Silva is currently the matchmaker for the lightweight division and above. Sean Shelby is the matchmaker for featherweight and below.
