Report: UFC Planning Aljamain Sterling vs. Henry Cejudo
By FCF Staff
Recently, Aljamain Sterling said he believes he’ll be facing Henry Cejudo next, and now, it’s also being reported the UFC’s working to book the match-up.
Earlier in January, Sterling relayed he thought a fight with Cejudo is next. But, due to a bicep injury he’s still recovering from, the bantamweight champ didn’t believe it made sense to fight Cejudo in March.
Now, MMA Fighting is reporting that sources have confirmed the UFC is targeting Sterling – Cejudo for April 8th. The fighters have reportedly not signed contracts yet.
Sterling (22-3) is coming off a quick, TKO win over T.J. Dillashaw in September.
Cejudo (16-2), meanwhile, hasn’t fought since May 2020 when he stopped Dominick Cruz. After the win, the decorated wrestler and fighter announced he was retiring. Cejudo announced last year that he was ending his retirement.
