Report: UFC Planning Nick Diaz – Jorge Masvidal Bout

Nick Diaz

By FCF Staff

Nick Diaz hasn’t fought in the Octagon since 2015, but it looks like that could change in March, 2019.

According to a new report from ESPN, UFC President Dana White has informed the outlet Diaz has verbally agreed to fight welterweight contender, Jorge Masvidal on March 2nd. The bout, if finalized, will be part of UFC 235 in Las Vegas.

Diaz (26-9, 2 no-contests) took on Anderson Silva in his last bout, and lost the fight via decision, but that result was overturned to a no-contest after Silva tested positive for banned substances. Prior to facing Silva, Diaz lost via decision to Georges St-Pierre in 2013.

Masvidal (32-13) hasnt’ fought since November, 2017, when he lost via decision to Stephen Thompson. Before that bout, in May, 2013, Masvidal lost via split decision to Demian Maia.

UFC 235 will be hosted by the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
