Report: UFC Targeting Chan Sung Jung – Dan Ige Headliner
By FCF Staff
The UFC is working on a compelling featherweight bout for its upcoming schedule, as it’s being reported Chan Sung Jung and Dan Ige have agreed to fight.
Ige (15-3) is coming off an electrifying, quick KO of Gavin Tucker last month, which returned him to the win column, after he dropped a decision to Calvin Kattar last July.
According to an initial report from ESPN, Ige and Jung will fight in the headliner of the UFC’s June 19th card.
MMA Junkie is reporting that Jung and Ige have verbally agreed to fight on that date, but that contracts haven’t been signed.
Jung (16-6), or ‘The Korean Zombie’, hasn’t fought since October when he lost via decision to Brian Ortega. The perennial contender is 3-2 in his last 5 fights.
Ige has gone 4-1 in his last 5 contests.
Currently Jung is ranked #5 in the UFC’s featherweight division and Ige is #8.
