Report: UFC Vet Caol Uno Returning to Shooto
One of Japan’s most experienced veterans, featherweight Caol Uno, will reportedly make his return to the nation’s storied Shooto promotion. The 37 year-old Uno hasn’t competed for Shooto since February, 2004, when he battled fellow vet Tatsuya Kawajiri to a draw.
Uno’s pending return was announced at a recent Shooto event according to a report from MMA-Japan.com. No details regarding who or when Uno will fight next for Shooto was given.
The 15 plus year veteran is coming off a knockout loss to Takeshi Inoue at DREAM 17 last September, after working his way to a unanimous decision win over Akiyo Nishiura last May.
Uno returned to DREAM after going 0-2-1 in his most recent run with the UFC, which saw him drop losses to Gleison Tibau and Spencer Fisher, and score a draw with Fabricio Camoes.
