Report: UFC Vet Sean McCorkle Announces Retirement
By FCF Staff
Approximately one year after his last bout, UFC vet Sean McCorkle has announced he’s retiring from fighting at the age of 38.
McCorkle hasn’t fought since last September, when he was submitted by Richard White while competing for Square Ring Promotions. The defeat was the heavyweight’s fifth in six fights.
While appearing on the latest edition of “The MMA Hour” Monday, the charismatic McCorkle announced he’s decided to hang up the gloves.
During the segment, McCorkle relayed that injuries and the fact he views fighting as one of “worst professions of all time”, as reasons for his decision.
McCorkle retires having gone 17-7 since he turned pro in 2005. The massive fighter made his UFC debut in 2010 and submitted Mark Hunt in the opening round.
