It remains to be seen if it actually happens, but it’s being reported the UFC is hoping to book a rematch between Nick Diaz and Robbie Lawler.

In recent months, talk about Diaz returning to the Octagon has spiked once again, and UFC President Dana White has spoken with the star about fighting. More recently, TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter reported that the UFC has offered Diaz and Lawler the co-main event slot for a card in September.

MMA Junkie has since reported that one of the fighters has verbally agreed to the fight.

Diaz (26-9, 2 NCs), who hasn’t fought since 2015, knocked Lawler out in their 2004 clash.

Lawler (28-15, 1 NC), meanwhile, is coming off a decision loss to Neil Magny last August.
