Report: UFC’s Carlos Condit Eyeing Spring Return
By FCF Staff
It looks as though the UFC’s spring schedule could mark the return of Carlos Condit, after the welterweight contender underwent surgery earlier this year, to repair the knee he injured in March.
Condit required surgery to repair a torn ACL, as well as some partially torn meniscus, that he incurred during his TKO defeat to Tyron Woodley.
In a recent interview with Bleacher Report, the former WEC champ relayed that his recovering is going well, and that “Right now, I’m looking at getting back into the cage in March or April. That’s the plan and I’m working hard to make that happen.”
Prior to facing Woodley, Condit avenged a 2009 loss to Martin Kampmann, by stopping the veteran at a Fight Night card last August.
The Jackson’s MMA figher has gone 2-3 in his last 5 fights, with his other losses coming against former champ Georges St-Pierre, and current champ Johny Hendricks. Condit’s additional win during this time was a decision win over Nick Diaz in February, 2012.
