Report: UFC’s Cat Zingano Says She’s Ready to Return
By FCF Staff
After having her title shot postponed due to injury, bantamweight contender Cat Zingano has announced she’s finally ready to return to action.
Zingano (8-0) stopped Miesha Tate last April at the TUF 17 Finale to secure a title shot, but not long after, the 32 year-old injured her knee and underwent surgery. At a pre-UFC 175 event this week, Zingano had this to say about her pending return (quote via MMA Junkie.com):
“I got cleared a couple months ago to start training hard, and I’ve been doing just that since. So, I feel good. I’m strong. I’m really hitting it hard, and I’ve having a good time doing it.”
Zingano also reportedly joked that she might face Chad Mendes at UFC 176, who is in need of an opponent, after Jose Aldo recently withdrew due to injury.
