(Updated) Report: UFC’s Nick Diaz Arrested on Suspicion of DUI

UFC star Nick Diaz was reportedly arrested last weekend in Lodi, California, under suspicion of driving under the influence.

According to a report from the Lodi-News Sentinel, the 31 year-old Diaz was arrested on suspicion of DUI, obstructing a police officer, destruction of evidence and driving with a suspended license. The alleged incident took place September 6th.

In a follow up report from MMA Junkie.com, the UFC released the following statement about the situation:

“We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering the facts. We understand that there is a legal process that will now take place and that Nick Diaz will have the opportunity to address the situation in the near future.”

According to the aforementioned report, after he was arrested, Diaz allegedly attempted to vomit in the local jail’s restroom despite being told to stop.

Diaz is scheduled to fight former middleweight champion Anderson Silva on January 31st at UFC 183.

(Update: according to a follow up report from FOX Sports.com, Diaz was also arrested for suspicion of DUI, DUI with an alcohol or drug level above .08, and unsafe speed for prevailing conditions in November, 2013. The report also states that Diaz missed several court dates following the alleged incident).
