UFC President Dana White recently said that TJ Dillashaw and Urijah Faber are willing to fight each other, but the latter isn’t sold on the bout just yet.

For some time now, there’s been speculation as to whether the Team Alpha Male bantamweights might fight, since Dillashaw is the reigning champ and Faber remains a top contender. More recently, talk about the fight have increased dramatically, since leading contenders like Dominick Cruz and Raphael Assuncao are down with injuries.

White appeared on the latest edition of “UFC Tonight” this week, and said that Faber and Dillashaw have “made it clear they’ll fight each other. But it’s not the plan right now.”

Before White’s interview, Faber appeared on “The MMA Hour” and when asked about fighting his teammate and friend, the bantamweight said (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“My gut instinct is no, I wouldn’t fight T.J.”

“My money stays the same regardless of who I fight, it makes the most money for [White],” Faber said. “I have no idea, we haven’t had any discussions about it. .. This hasn’t been talked about with me or the UFC brass. I don’t have an answer at this point.”

Faber did note that he’d be willing to face Francisco Rivera again. Faber submitted Rivera at UFC 181 last month, but the fight ending choke came after Rivera took an accidental poke to the eye.
