Report: Urijah Faber Says There’s no Reason to Turn Down Fight With TJ Dillashaw Anymore

Urijah Faber

Following TJ Dillashaw’s much discussed, departure from Team Alpha Male, both the bantamweight champ and Urijah Faber have now said they’d be willing to fight each other.

Dillashaw announced he’s leaving the Sacramento based team recently, to go train with the Elevation Fight Team in the Denver region. Since then, Faber has said TAM will no longer be open to Dillashaw. The latter, meanwhile, has responded by saying he would fight the TAM founder if asked.

Recently Faber appeared on the Opie and Jim Norton Show, and when asked if he’d be willing to fight his friend and now former teammate, the veteran said (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“At this point, I don’t really have a reason not to fight him other than that we’ve been friends for a long time. Before, it was ‘We’re on the same team.’ We’re not, now. I’ve got to say ‘Yes’ to it at this point.”

Dillashaw is scheduled to fight former champion Dominick Cruz on January 17th. Faber, on the other hand, is booked to fight Frankie Saenz on December 12th.
