The upcoming, August 17th, UFC on FOX Sports 1 card in Boston appears to have been added another significant fight, as bantamweight contender Urijah Faber will reportedly fight Yuri Alcantara at the event. The card will be hosted by Boston’s TD Garden Arena and will be broadcast on the new FOX Sports 1 Network.

News of the fight was tweeted by Las Vegas Sun reporter Case Keefer, who cited ZUFFA executive Lorenzo Fertitta as the source. MMA Junkie.com is also reporting that the fight is confirmed.

Faber (28-6) is coming off back-to-back, rear-naked-choke victories over Ivan Menjivar and Scott Jorgensen, after being handed a unanimous decision loss last July by interim champ Renan Barao. The 34 year-old vet is 3-2 in his last five bouts.

Alcantara (28-4) knocked out Iliarde Santos in his last outing at the recent, May 18th, UFC on FX 8 card. The 32 year-old vet has gone 3-1 (with 1 no contest) since arriving in the UFC and has only lost once (a UD defeat to Hacran Dias at UFC 147) in his last 15 fights.

Some of the other bouts that have been previously announced for the UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 event include Travis Browne vs. Alistair Overeem, Joe Lauzon vs. Michael Johnson and Thiago Alves vs. Matt Brown.
