Following Paige VanZant’s lengthy run on “Dancing With the Stars” her name has never been bigger, and that appears to have translated to the ratings for UFC on FOX 22.

VanZant faced fellow strawweight contender in Saturday’s night headliner, and the latter won the bout via first round submission. According to a follow up report from MMA Fighting, UFC on FOX 22 averaged 3,178,000 viewers for FOX. The main event bout between VanZant and Waterson averaged 4,800,000 for the card’s high point.

This would mean that the December 17th event is the highest rated card on FOX since January, 2014. The card featured Benson Henderson taking on Josh Thomson in the main event, and it averaged 3,220,000. The report notes that if this Saturday’s main event had lasted longer, however, then the card would have likely beat that average.

UFC on FOX 22 also featured the retirement bout of Urijah Faber, who decisioned Brad Pickett. The co-main event saw Mickey Gall submit fellow prospect Sage Northcutt.

The card was held in Sacramento, California.
