Earlier this week UFC President Dana White confirmed that former Strikeforce middleweight champ Luke Rockhold will meet Vitor Belfort in his Octagon debut, and today, reports have surfaced stating the fight will take place May 18th.

According to a report from the Brazilian publication Tatame, the middleweight tilt will take place on that date in the Brazilian city of  Jaragua do Sul. The bout will headline a UFC on FX 8 card and will be hosted by the Arena Jaragua.

Belfort (22-10) is coming off an impressive, stoppage win via headkick over Michael Bisping in January, after losing by submission to light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones in September.

Rockhold (10-1) has been sidelined as of late with a wrist injury and has not competed since July, when he scored a unanimous decision win over Tim Kennedy. The American Kickboxing Academy fighter has won nine straight fights.
