There has been talk about a fight between Vitor Belfort and Gegard Mousasi for some time, and it looks as though it’s finally going to happen.

The middleweight fight is planned for October 8th at UFC 204, according to a report from the Brazilian outlet Combate.  MMA Fighting.com has also confirmed with sources that the fight is targeted for the card, which is expected to take place in Manchester, England.

Belfort (25-12) is looking to get back on track as the perennial contender was quickly stopped by “Jacare” Souza in May. Prior to that the Brazilian star stopped Dan Henderson last November.

Mousasi (39-6-2) is coming off consecutive wins over Thales Leites and Thiago Santos, after he was taken out by Uriah Hall last September.

Belfort is currently ranked #4 at 185 and Mousasi is #7.

UFC 204 is expected to feature a middleweight title fight between champion Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson.
