Report: WSOF Champ Justin Gaethje to Face Melvin Guillard Next

By FCF Staff

It looks like it hasn’t taken Melvin Guillard long to lock up a title fight with World Series of Fighting, as the UFC vet will reportedly challenge lightweight champ Justin Gaethje next.

The bout was announced on a recent edition of “Inside MMA”, and the WSOF has also re-tweeted the news. The fight is expected to take place later this year, but an exact date has yet to be determined.

Guillard (32-13-2) made his WSOF debut last weekend and stopped “JZ” Cavalcante in the second round. Guillard is 2-2, with 1 no contest, in his last five fights.

Gaethje (12-0) also fought that night and TKO’d Nick Newell in round two. The rising lightweight has won five straight bouts since signing with WSOF.
