Despite a recent announcement from the UFC that Paulo Costa and Yoel Romero are going to fight, November 3rd, it’s being reported that the latter has not agreed to the contest.

On Tuesday, the promotion announced that the middleweights are going to battle at UFC 230 in New York City. But according to a report from ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, multiple sources close to Romero are saying the powerful wrestler has not signed onto the bout. The reason being that recently he had surgery to repair a broken orbital bone, and Romero is reportedly not going to commit to a bout, until he’s fully recovered.

Romero is coming off a tightly contested, split decision loss to middleweight champ Robert Whittaker last month.
