Retired UFC Vet Chris Lytle Comes Up Short in Indiana Senate Election

By FCF Staff

One of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s most exciting fighters ever has come up short in his first political run, as Chris Lytle failed to win last night’s Indiana State Senate District 28 election.

Lytle, who was running for the Republican bid, tweeted last night:

“Almost. I finished 2nd. It was a good fight.”

Greenfield conservation officer Mike Crider ended up winning the seat.

The 37 year-old Lytle retired from MMA last year following a submission win over Dan Hardy in August.

The welterweight, who won multiple “Fight of the Night” honors during his UFC tenure, finished his career having gone 4-1 in his last five fights.
