RFA Announces Final Event Before Legacy FC Merger Takes Place

By Press Release

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) president Ed Soares announced today that the RFA will be headed to The Ozarks for the promotion’s year-end event in December. The main event of RFA 46 will feature a light-heavyweight title fight between undefeated prospect Jordan “Big Swingin” Johnson and heavy-handed Arkansas native LeMarcus “Freight Train” Tucker. RFA 46 – Johnson vs. Tucker will take place Friday, December 9th at the Branson Convention Center in Branson, Missouri. This will serve as the final RFA event before the RFA and Legacy FC merge to form the LFA. The entire main card will be televised live and nationwide on AXS TV at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT.

“I am excited to crown a new RFA light-heavyweight champion at our year-end show, which will also be the final RFA event before the merger,” stated Soares. “Jordan Johnson and LeMarcus Tucker are two of the top 205-pound prospects in the sport for a reason. They will give the city of Branson and fight fans around the world an incredible RFA title fight before we merge into the LFA!”

Tickets for RFA 46 – Johnson vs. Tucker are available for purchase NOW through  CageTix.com/RFA.

Johnson (5-0) looks to cap off an incredible 2016 with his fourth straight win inside the RFA Octagon. The former Iowa Hawkeye wrestler has emerged as one of the division’s true blue-chip prospects. The rise of Johnson can be directly linked to the fact that he has surrounded himself with some of the greatest minds in the sport. Johnson has spent time training this year at Power MMA in Arizona, while also serving as one of Vitor Belfort’s main training partners in south Florida. Johnson is now currently working with Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis at Alliance MMA in southern California for their upcoming title fights. Davis (Penn State) and Johnson (Iowa) are former Big Ten wrestlers that are pushing each other daily to prepare for their light-heavyweight title fights in Bellator and RFA respectively.

“I’m excited to go and get that RFA belt and beat this dude’s ass,” stated an excited Johnson. “I will be crowned the RFA light-heavyweight champion on December 9th.”

Tucker (5-1) looks to the show the world why he has one of the most accurate nicknames in combat sports. “The Freight Train” ripped through the amateur ranks before making his professional debut in 2014. The Arkansas native has since steamrolled through five of his opponents as a pro, which includes a first round submission win over previously undefeated prospect John Lair in July. Tucker also made his professional boxing debut this year and has amassed an impressive 4-1 record inside the squared circle. “The Freight Train” is now on a one-way trip headed straight for Branson, Missouri on Friday, December 9th.

“It’s basically a dream I have had since I was a kid and saw my first fight – to get a belt around my waist and why not for one of the top organization’s in the world,” Tucker exclaimed. The Freight Train is coming full steam ahead and I will win that title at RFA 46!”

The entire main card for RFA 46 will be announced next week. RFA 46 will be the promotion’s fourth event to take place in “The Show Me State” of Missouri and the second RFA event to be held in Missouri in 2016. The entire main card of RFA 46 – Johnson vs. Tucker will be televised live and nationwide on AXS TV at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on Friday, December 9th.
